An American-style Iwagumi Planted Aquarium

An American-style Iwagumi Planted Aquarium

This 75 gallon aquascape was Aquarium Design Group's (Mike Senske's specifically) entry into the 2010 Aqua Design Amano International Aquatic Plants Layout Contest. Mike was the highest ranked United States entry that year. The live planted aquarium is by far the most challenging to master, and ADG has a rich history of successful aquascapes and innovative design in the live planted aquarium realm. After raw talent, one's routine aquarium maintenance regimen is perhaps the defining varibale in achieveing success at a high level with the live planted aquarium. This aquascape melds the Japanese style with a decidedly more Western aesthetic to achieve a bold yet calm appearance.
