A Classic African Cichlid Hardscape

A Classic African Cichlid Hardscape

Afican cichlids are among the most popular of freshwater fish for due to their exceptional color and lively behavior. This aquascape uses a classic African cichlid aquarium stone to create an abundance of holes, caves, and small territories for the fish. Given the size of the aquarium and the number of fish used here, it is clear that long term some of the cichlids will need to be moved into other or larger aquariums. But for the moment, at this smaller size, keeping the aquarium slightly more crowded helps to disperse any individual aggression over a larger group thus minimizing the potential for any one fish to be singled out and abused. Aquarium Design Group's comprehensive aquarium maintenance practices will ensure excellent water quality until the time to thin out this group arrives. A video Aquarium Design Group produced for aquarium products manufacturer Current-USA features this aquarium and is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5uZ_IC5eSA&feature=plcp&context=C41dd3d2VDvjVQa1PpcFP2Owuubhj0R1YHbjuNjfZq5MvvzndJchI%3D
