It is always a pleasure to work closely with interior designers and architects. On this custom aquarium installation, the architect was also the interior designer, so in a very complete sense, the full vision of the space was realized and easily conveyed. While a hardscape-only layout could have worked very well here, the introduction of some green was desired to warm up the aquascape and provide a desired color element. Being a commercial setting (a dentist's office waiting area) consistency in the appearance of the aquascape was an important goal, hence the decision to use artificial plants instead of live aquatic plants. By limiting the types of plants used, the look is effective. The use of an artificial plant in this case also makes routine aquarium maintenance more efficient.
